A question about Tabber on v2013

Post by Instrumentation »

Hi Norman,

We've recently had our website redesigned, meaning a brand new theme and moving over to version 2013.

We currently offer downloads for our products (on v11), such as manuals, datasheets and guides. Nearly every single product offers multiple downloads, as you can see here at the bottom of the page: http://www.issltd.co.uk/acatalog/Lascar ... ogger.html

To do the above, we simply create a 'product' to act as the download using the 'No Image No Text Laid Out In Single Line' layout and add the file using Simple Link.

With our new website, this isn't an option due to the layout of the categories - all products now appear next to each other in one view, see here: (http://www.mrde.co.uk/shop/test/shop/ABB.html) - this is just an old test site, but the layout remains the same.

We can't use the Simple Link due to the fact we need to be able to add multiple downloads. We were wondering if it was possible to add products into a Tab on your Tabber? Using a plain layout similar to the one mentioned above. That way, we could have our main product with tabber underneath, containing a 'Description' tab, 'Specs' tab and so on - and then a 'Downloads' tab. Within that we can then place these 'Products' which are actually just holding our downloads and not make them visible elsewhere on the website.

We prefer our downloads to be 'Products' so that we can reset duplicates whenever something changes for example, this change than cascades down all products it is available for, without us having to re-add it to each product. It also means they're very easy to move around. A method using additional files would be incredibly hard to maintain due to the number of downloads we have.

I hope this explains what we are trying to achieve. Any help you can give would be much appreciated. If the only option is a bespoke solution, then please let us know. We're happy to discuss any costs involved as this is something we desperately need working before we can go live!

Any help is much appreciated.

Kind Regards,
Chris
